K-12 EDUCATION CENTER OF ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
From new, multibuilding campuses
supporting pre-K through grade 12 students to renovations of and additions to existing school buildings, Spectrum Engineers has the answer to your K-12 facility design needs. Our K-12 Education Center of Engineering Excellence (CEE) is a group of dedicated engineers and designers who have concentrated their professional efforts on designing high quality school projects.
Spectrum’s K-12 Education CEE has the experience, training and dedication required to bring systems design excellence to K-12 education projects.
The K-12 Education CEE was formed to provide added benefits to our clients. For example, we are:
--Organized to reduce our clients’ investments in time, worry and budgets by bringing together engineering and design specialists who are dedicated to producing constructible designs that help schools perform the critical and rewarding task of educating children.
--Experienced and knowledgeableSpectrum understands the issues affecting primary and secondary education facilities. Our professionals are focused on school designs and stay abreast of codes, standards, and individual preferences in relation to school facilities.
--Relationship builders who are committed to developing long-lasting friendships and associations with district and school personnel, helping us to understand the context in which each school will be designed and built.
By selecting Spectrum’s K-12 Education CEE, clients benefit from integrated design solutions provided by a multidiscipline team of engineers and designers. This integration produces reduced gaps and overlaps in documents and reduced risk of change orders during construction which helps streamline the over-all construction process, saving our clients time and money.
Our professionals are equipped to provide solutions to the broad range of issues facing schools. Spectrum’s CEE includes professionals who have specialized in school air quality, energy modeling, energy efficient designs and designs that enhance educational environments. We employ two engineers who are LEED® AP (approved professionals) and have designed innovative and efficient comfort systems including those utilizing thermal displacement ventilation (TDV) in educational settings. Crucial to students’ ability to learn is their ability to hear. Our acoustical engineers and technology systems designers frequently are called upon to design acoustical assistive listening technologies for schools.
Make each lesson countAfter life-safety and comfort, presentation of lessons may be the single most important factor affecting success in education. Spectrum’s K-12 CEE includes technologists who specialize in communications, audio/video (A/V), pro-sound and other low voltage systems. Our technology designers understand the correlation between A/V-enhanced presentations and increased comprehension, and design systems and controls that make it easy to use these technologies.
Group & individual learning. Technology-enhanced learning environments. Multi-media instruction. Memorable & seamless presentation of lessons. State-of-the-art computer labs. Classroom acoustics. Energy modeling & energy efficient designs. Good indoor air quality. Sound reinforcement. Daylighting, task lighting and glare-free lighting. These are the elements that create more effective learning environments for students and a more effective teaching environment for educators. Spectrum's K-12 Education CEE is the right choice for your next project.
